Destination: Kitulgala | Drive: Approximately 3 1⁄2 Hours (123 km)
Once you land on Sri Lanka, you will be welcomed and greeted by our representative, who will introduce you to your dedicated chauffeur. Then you will be transferred to the charming town Kithulgala famed for thrills such as white water rafting, trekking and the Klein Forest Reserve a favorite bird watching location. Destination: Sandun Ella | Drive: Approximately 10min (5 km)
After breakfast at your campsite, leave for Sand Ella Waterfall for a day of abseiling. Hike up this stunning waterfall and enjoy the adrenaline rush of a 100 ft. Controlled abseil descent. After your fill of abseiling enjoy a trek through the waterfall. Head back to your campsite on completion for some much-needed rest and relaxation. Completing breakfast, we will be leaving for Sinharaja Forest Reserve. It is the least disturbed and biologically unique lowland rain forest remaining in Sri Lanka. It is a treasure trove of endemic species including trees, insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. Because of the dense vegetation, the spectacular wildlife is not as easily seen compared to the dry zone national parks. Bird watching is particularly interesting as it is home to 95% of the endemic birds of Sri Lanka. Overnight Stay Hotel in Sinharaja.

Day 05 is dedicated to birding in Sinharaja Rain Forest. One of the major features at Sinharaja is the presence of bird "Feeding Flocks". These flocks give life to the forest which under normal conditions is silent and uneventful. You will be able to observe endemic birds such as Red-faced Malkoha, the Sri Lanka Blue Magpie, the Ashy- headed Babbler, the White-headed Starling and the Green-billed Coucal some of the rarest of Sri Lankan beauties. Destination: Udawalawe. Drive: Approximately 31⁄2 Hours (130km)
After breakfast leave for Udawalawe. Udawalawe National Park lies south of the central hills in the island’s dry zone. It is renowned for the many elephants that live in the park. It is not unusual to see whole herds of adults and baby elephants– feeding or bathing and playing in the water. Besides the elephants, it is also home to water buffalo, spotted & barking deer, wild boar, sambar, jackals, leopard, fishing cat’s, Mongoose and more. Overnight Stay: Camping in Udawalawe.

After breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya, En-route visits the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens where a rare collection of tropical exotic and indigenous flora including the famous Orchid House could be viewed. The beautiful town of Nuwara Eliya, set in the heart of picturesque tea plantations is situated 1890 meters above sea level, where the British succeeded in creating an English countryside with homes in styles from Georgian to Queen Anne. Destination: Dambulla. Drive: Approximately 4 Hours (150km)
Day eight begins by exploring the famous Golden Rock cave temple in Dambulla, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This vast isolated rock mass with its five Caverns is the largest best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka, which is known to be a pilgrimage site for the past 22 centuries. The Buddhist mural paintings (covering an area of 2,100 sqm. meters) are of particular importance as are the 157 statues including a 47-foot long statue of the recumbent Buddha. Destination: Sigiriya. Drive: Approximately 1⁄2 an Hour (25km) The next in line would be Sigiriya a 5th Century "Fortress in the Sky". Conceptualised and built by King Kassapa, it was Royal Citadel for more than 18 years. The lion rock (a UNESCO world heritage site) is a citadel of unusual beauty, rising 200 metres from the scrub jungle. The base of the rock is ringed by a moat and rampart and extensive gardens. The majestic Lion’s Paw picturesquely guards the stairway of the palace on the summit. You will also be able to view the famous frescoes of the “Heavenly Maidens” of Sigiriya in a sheltered pocket of the rock, and the 10 foot high Mirror Wall, which was once polished so aggressively that the inhabitants and the visitors used it as a mirror. Destination: Colombo. Drive: Approximately 4 1⁄2 Hours (169km) After 08 days of chills and thrills, we’ll be leaving for the commercial capital Colombo and be checked in at the hotel. The rest of the evening is allocated to spend on leisure. During the spare time, you may take a city tour around Colombo. Drive through the commercial town centre known as the "Fort." It is built by the Portuguese in the 16th century where grand colonial era buildings stand alongside modern office structures. See the vibrant markets and bazaars of Pettah, and the National Museum with its beautiful collection of lovely antiques and art of Sri Lanka. You could visit a Buddhist temple and a Hindu Kovil to experience the diversity of religion, ethnicity and customs of the people. For a happy closure, you may go on a shopping spree, and be amazed by the exciting offerings that are truly Sri Lankan. Overnight Stay Hotel in Colombo.
